10,11) 3D PRINTED HALLOW FORM OBJECT:THE HYBRID

This week's assignment was to create a new hybrid object of object by combining the object I made and the object of my partner.

When I heard the topic of this assignment, I thought about creating objects using many Rhino tools that I have learned in class. 

So it was good to review many Rhino tools such as rotate, loft, join, cut, etc. other than taper and twist that I learned most recently.

- the object that I choose creating hybrid object.

This object seemed to be able to stand alone without the help of others, and it also seemed easier to print when this object was actually 3d printing than other objects I created. I chose the object because I thought it was aesthetically good because the edges of the object were not round and sharp.

I thought the objects in both of us looked great, especially Erica's tentacle objects were great ideas. So, when mixing the two objects, I decided to make sure to use the unique shape of the tentacle.

- My hybrids 

I thought the biggest characteristic of my object was its twisted shape. Therefore, I used a twist tool to wind the tentacles of Ericka a little bit. 

To match size Ericka's tentacle object, I tried many shapes such as cutting the top and bottom of my object and increasing its length.

I even experimented with making my object into Ericka's tentacle-shaped object, and it looked so terrible that I immediately deleted the idea.

- Ericka's Hybrids 

I really liked she twisted her tentacles. Therefore it became a more interesting object.

We thought that my object among each other's hybrid objects seemed to have made good use of the object characteristics of the two of us, so we chose to print my object. 

Evaluation Criteria: 1. Function - how does this object function?  Is is successful in doing so?

                               2. Form - what are the aesthetic qualities of this object?

                               3. Self-supporting - is this object self-supporting?  

                               4. 3D Printability - Is this 3D model water tight and ready to print?  

I was worried because it was my first partner assignment since I entered AUArts, 

but I was happy to be able to do it with such a perfect and kind partner. 

Thanks to my Ericka, it was a fun assignment.
